Step 2: Allocate a Learner Pass

Every learner undertaking a MiDAS course needs to be allocated a Learner Pass

To allocate a Learner Pass, you need to add the Learner’s name and email address. If it is an External Pass, you will be asked which organisation the Learner is from. You can type in their organisation name or search using the organisation’s registration number if you know it. 

If the organisation doesn’t appear, then you can register them. Registering with MiDAS is free. This will trigger an email notification to the organisation with more information about MiDAS and asking them to sign up the MiDAS Commitment. This helps to ensure that MiDAS remains a nationally recognised standard and supports us building a community of organisations committed to safe, legal and comfortable transport. 

Before clicking submit, you are asked to confirm that you have provided the driver and their organisation all the relevant information regarding MiDAS courses and that they have confirmed that they meet the driver licence requirements for undertaking a MiDAS Driving Assessment. 

Driver Assessors will still complete driver licence checks as part of the Individual Practical Session. Once you click submit, the Learner will be sent information about how to create an account to begin their online theory course.

 

Cancelling a Learner Pass

If a Learner Pass is allocated but the Learner then does not proceed with the course, you can cancel the pass which will make it available to reallocate. You can do this by clicking View Progress on the Learner which you would like to reallocate.

If the Pass has not been activated then it will show that the pass is inactive and you will be able to click Reallocate. Once you have confirmed the cancellation, the pass will be available again to reallocate.

If the Learner has activated their pass, but subsequently drops out of the course, we may still be able to make the pass available to reallocate as long as they haven’t started completing the course. Please contact training@ctauk.org if you would like to cancel an activated Pass.
